Whether you follow football or not, I think it’s safe to say, we all know Super Bowl Sunday is two days away. Every time I turn around I see a new post about Super Bowl recipes or Super Bowl games.

We’ve been inundated with commercials promoting the big game, and CBS is now highlighting Super Bowl props 2018 for those of you that like to put a little wager on the game. My personal favourite listed is, Will Pink say “Eagles” before, during or after she sings the national anthem?

Pink’s recent tweet about singing at the Super Bowl clearly indicates she’s an Eagles fan, so I’d be betting yes on this one. That said, these props are public knowledge, so Pink has complete control over your money on this prop.

If you’re planning on having a crew of people over to your house this weekend, then I’m guessing this probably isn’t your first rodeo. You might even have some games planned to make the party more exciting and keep everyone on the edge of their seat.

Either way, one thing’s for sure:

You’re going to have food. And probably lots of it. You’ve probably even googled Super Bowl recipes.

Did you know?

Aside from the State of the Union, Super Bowl LII is the hottest thing trending on google search right now. And with that search, comes tons of Super Bowl recipes. Am I right?

Amongst the popular Super Bowl recipes, of course, you will find things like chili, dips and finger foods. Although I’m sure those are all touch-down worthy, today I’m giving you a recipe that’ll show your guests you’re going for the extra point.

Seriously, the halftime show going on in your living room after your guests try these tasty snacks, will give Justin Timberlake a run for his money.

You might be asking:

What is this amazing Super Bowl recipe you speak of? Well, these tasty energy snacks are sure to be the first to disappear, so without further ado, the recipe you’ve all been waiting for…

Peanut Butter Protein Energy Balls

Warning: you will not be able to eat just one. With that in mind, please proceed with caution and make an informed decision on how many batches to whip up, as this recipe only yields about 24. My most recent batch lasted less than 12 hours… and I ate 20 of them! Yes, you read that right.

Peanut Butter Protein Energy Balls

A delicious protein snack when you're on the go, or just need a little pick-me-up.

Course Tasty Treats
Prep Time 20 minutes
Servings 24

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Quaker Oats
  • 1 cup Rice Krispies
  • 1/4 cup Protein powder optional
  • 1/2 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 3 tsp Honey
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup Cocolate chips
  • 2 tsp Milk

Instructions

  1. Place ingredients into a large mixing bowl, and mix.

  2. Add more milk if texture is too sticky, or more peanut butter if mixture is falling apart.

  3. Scoop small portions and roll into one-inch balls

  4. If you have a sweet tooth, you might want to roll the balls in powdered sugar.

What I love about this recipe is that you can add anything you want.

If you love Chex instead of Rice Krispies, substitute it. No milk? No problem. Use water. Can’t find honey? Use corn syrup. Chocolate chips too sweet? Add almonds, walnuts, coconut or chia seeds. The substitution and addition possibilities are endless, and I’m sure you’ll prepare a winning creation.

I almost forgot. If your party includes kids and you want to keep them occupied, gather up these easy ingredients for root beer floats and ice cream sundaes. The kids will be so busy creating their own tasty treats, you won’t even miss a play.

One thing’s for sure this Super Bowl weekend:

Whether you’re an Eagles fan or a Pats fan, I have no doubt, you’ll be the star of the Super Bowl Party with these tasty peanut butter protein treats. And hey, if you decide to add something new to the mix, let me know. I’m always looking for new ideas.

Happy Super Bowl, y’all.
